Cinnaminson SEPAG

The Cinnaminson Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) is a state-mandated, district-wide, parent-driven group charged with providing input to the local school district on system-level challenges in special education and related services. NJ Administrative Code 6A:14-1.2(h)

The regulation allows parents, in collaboration with school district leaders, to create and run an advisory group that meets local needs. SEPAG requirements create opportunities for working together in ways that can make a difference.

A SEPAG should be structured to benefit all students with disabilities, not just a single group of students, or a single issue. The more inclusive a SEPAG is, the more opportunities there are to achieve positive outcomes.

Who should join us?

Parents and/or guardians of students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), a Section 504 accommodation plan, an out of district placement, English Language Learners (ELL), and students receiving related services such as speech therapy, OT, PT, or Basic Skills.
Parents and/or guardians who have concerns that their child may need additional support at school. This includes students who are gifted and have a disability or learning difference.
Anyone who would like to gain an understanding of the Special Education process.

Who We Are

We are a group of district parents who have a child with a disability. We volunteer with SEPAG because we believe that every child deserves to reach their full potential, and we know how overwhelming navigating special education can be!

Mission Statement

The mission of the Cinnaminson Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) is to help students with disabilities succeed academically and socially by providing feedback to the district on policies and programs that affect special education.

We will do this by:

Empowering families through knowledge and understanding;
Ensuring a space for parents to have a safe, free, and unbiased exchange of information;
Bridging the gap between parents, school administrators, and teachers.

We are focused on providing a supportive, collaborative environment for all.
